Lee Eclov, Senior Pastor

Rev. Lee Eclov, Senior Pastor. A native of South Dakota, he graduated from Trinity College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He served as an Assistant Pastor at at North Suburban Evangelical Free Church in Deerfield for five years, and as Senior Pastor of Chippewa Evangelical Free Church in Beaver Falls, PA (near Pittsburgh) for 14 years. Lee, Susan and their son, Andy, came to VCL in February, 1998. Pastor Lee is an adjunct professor at Trinity Evan. Divinity School, a consulting editor for Leadership Journal, and a columnist for PreachingToday.com, both publications of Christianity Today Int'l.

Jared Smith, Associate Pastor

Pastor Jared and his wife, Tammy, met at Taylor University in Upland, IN. After graduating, Pastor Jared left his native Indiana for Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield. During those years they attended VCL and Jared eventually did his internship at this church. After graduating Jared took a one-year post-graduate 'internship' with an emphasis in preaching at Camelback Bible Church in Phoenix, AZ. VCL had already decided we wanted Jared on our staff even before his move to Arizona so after that experience he and Tammy joined the staff in September 2000. Pastor Jared’s special areas of responsibility include youth, prayer ministries, and adult discipleship.

Susan Eclov, Ministries Administrator

Susan comes from a remarkable Christian family committed to Christian service from childhood. She and Pastor Lee met while students at Trinity College where they traveled widely in a small musical ensemble. Susan serves part-time at VCL focusing her administrative gifts on two particular areas: worship planning and children’s ministries. She and Pastor Lee have one son, Andy.
