A Visible Witness to the Nations

We welcome everyone this morning to worship. Today we will hear from Lance Higginbotham as he encourages us from the Word on our witness to the nations. Lance will be leading us through Deuteronomy 4:1-8.

General Announcements

Today’s speaker:   Lance is a Campus Minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s Graduate and Faculty Ministry at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.  He has a PhD in Old Testament from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and serves as Guest Assistant Professor of Old Testament at Wheaton College.  A follower of Jesus Christ and a native Texan, Lance lives in Lake Bluff, IL with his wife Amanda, two kids and his neurotic rescue dog.

 Two New First Hour Classes: 

The Messiah in the Movies led by Sam & Miranda George.  Can films reveal the true, hidden longings of humans for God?

 Spiritual Disciplines. Exploring the meaning and practices of various disciplines which encourage and guide us in spiritual growth.

 

 VCL Youth– Got a lot of homework? Grab your books and join us today, 4/7, after church for a pizza lunch, followed by a study time. We will have individual and group study spaces, and, when the timer goes off, it’s time to have fun and let off steam. Ends 4 pm. 

 

 Virtual Prayer Gathering: This Tuesday night, 4/9, 7:00 pm, we’ll be gathering on Zoom for our prayer meeting. Come join us for a meaningful time of prayer—all from the comfort of your own living room. Zoom details to follow via email. Ministry Opportunity: On Saturday, 4/13, we have an opportunity to help those in need with furniture deliveries and pickups. We meet at Love INC at 8am-noon to load the trucks. Women’s Connections:   Thursday morning Bible Study on the The Letters of John.  Please join us from 9:30-11 a.m.  If you have questions contact Carol Marshall.

Ladies, we invite you to our next Saturday Gathering on April 13, 9-11 am.  Courage to Change.  What encourages us to change?  How does it happen?  What can make a difference?  We will look at three ways we are motivated to change.  We will hear Miriam Englund’s story of love, courage and boldness that changed a life.
