No First Hour for the month of August!
Virtual Prayer Gathering: This Tuesday night, 8/18, 7 pm, we’ll be gathering on Zoom for our prayer meeting. Come join us for a meaningful time of prayer-all from the comfort of your own living room. Zoom details to follow via email. If you have a prayer request or an update, please sent it to office@evcl.org.
VCL family picnic at the forest preserve: On Friday, August 28 at 6 p.m. we will be hosting a picnic at the Half Day Forest Preserve at Shelter B. We’ll have worship and a chalk drawing to enjoy. Please pray about friends and neighbors who you would like to invite and sign up in the foyer to help us with planning for this event. Thank you!
Summer talks: Pastor Jim will be hosting our last, Bible, Sermon, or Spiritual Conversations, on this Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. Feel free to bring your questions! Let’s take this time for conversations on what God is doing in our lives, or in our understanding of Him and His Word.
Ladies! Our next Night of Encouragement is this Thursday, 8/20, at Sarah Boburka’s home, 7-8 PM. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend or neighbor!
Feed My Starving Children: Join us on Saturday, 8/22 from 9-1045 am as we serve together at Feed My Starving Children. This is a wonderful opportunity for our church family to come alongside an organization working hard to wipe out hunger across the globe. Let’s get our whole church involved and be a blessing to those in need! Sign up in the foyer.
VCL Blood Drive. Our next Red Cross Blood Drive is Tuesday August 25. Please give if you are able. Appointments are scheduled every 15 minutes from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sign up at redcross.org. Volunteers needed to host people as they come to donate. Please call or email Chrissi Wall to help.
Coming Soon! Thursday Women’s Bible Study: All women of VCL and friends are welcome to our weekly Bible Study. This semester we’ll be studying The Book of Ruth using the first half of Knowing The Bible Series, Ruth and Esther. Throughout this study of Ruth, we will follow the prominent role of Naomi and be encouraged by the evidence of God’s covenant faithfulness, kindness, and redeeming love.
