Hold Your Applause
In this part of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus specifically addressed how and why we do religious activities. They are good things to do, if we do them with hearts that depend on and glorify God. Without that, their impact is limited to the good feelings we get when others notice. Let’s step into the things we do for God with a genuine heart for God.

No First Hour 5/31
Starting June 7 First Hour: the adults’ and kids’ classes will coordinate on the theme of Psalm 23. We’ll have some interactive time before our own class time-a great opportunity to be an intergenerational church family! The adults will focus on discovering the various names of God through the lens of Psalm 23.
Ladies! Summer is coming and that means Nights of Encouragement will soon be starting. Please mark your calendars for June 4 at Karen Flatebo‘s home, 7-8 PM. Our next date is July 23 at Yi Huang’s and then August 20 at Sarah Boburka’s. Pick up an invitation card in the foyer and invite a friend!
VCL Blood Drive. Our next Red Cross Blood Drive is Tuesday June 9. Please give if you are able. Appointments are scheduled every 15 minutes from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sign up at redcross.org. Volunteers needed to host people as they come to donate. Please call or email Chrissi Wall to help out.
Pastor Lee Eclov. A memorial celebrating Lee’s life will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Crosspoint Church, at 10 am, followed by a reception where you may greet the family. The service will be livestreamed on Facebook on the Crosspoint Church Rockford page. Crosspoint Church, 3215 E. State Street, Rockford.
There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer to help organize rides to Rockford for Lee’s service on May 30. Let us know if you can drive and how many you can take or if you need a ride, please let us know.
Picnic: June 14 will be here before we know it! Our picnic will once again be at Whytegate Park following our morning service. Sign up today in the foyer!
